Normally
one would start with the history of the club, but since it is new it really doesn’t have a history. The only history there really is, is myself. I am a
twenty-year old woman who has grown up with a passion for Saabs. My father has always driven a Saab and subsequently he made
my mother drive one as well. Also my fathers best friend owns a Saab shop is
San Francisco called Embarcadero Automotive, where I have had all my work done to my car. Also I highly recommend their shop
to anyone who is interested in Saabs or having high quality work done on their car. You can find there website in our links page.
I have started this club for anyone that has
a Saab (pre GM or post GM) or has the same passion for the car that I do. My
goal for the club is that it will be a place for Saab enthusiasts in Northern California can communicate, congregate, buy,
sell, trade, gossip, chat, and anything else that is of interest to Saab enthusiasts.
I am the self-elected club president and would
be happy to answer anybodies questions or hear anybodies feedback on how to make the Nor Cal SAAB Club better.
A LITTLE NOTE ABOUT THE NAME: if you will notice that I have spelled
SAAB in all capitals in the name of the club, this has to do with the fact that Saabs that were pre GM made were called SAABS
which is an acronym for “Svenska Aeroplan Aktie(B)olaget” which
means The Swedish Aeroplane Company. I have chosen that spelling because I am more of a fan of
pre GM SAABS than of GM made Saabs. That is a personal chose and if anybody wishes that to be changes they can contact
me about it and we can disscuss it.
